Welcome to Well-Fed World (WFW):
This online resource provides information for hunger advocates, food policy researchers, sustainable development specialists, and other public interest groups reforming local and global food systems.
WFW recommendations are guided by these premises:
- Cycling plant-based foods through animals to produce meat and related animal-based products is inefficient, unsustainable, and detrimental to global hunger solutions.
- Demand for animal products is not "given" or "fixed." Demand is created by cultural institutions, politics, and business interests. Demand for animal products, can be altered through education campaigns and shifting priorities.
- Producing and consuming fewer animal products (especially those raised by intensive farming methods) is much-neglected but critical "part of the solution" for industrialized and developing countries. While this step is not a panacea, it will drastically improve key areas of concern for reducing global hunger: scarcity, population, prices, distribution, sustainability, pollution, and other related concerns.
Thank you for your interest in alleviating global hunger and promoting just and sustainable policies for the Earth and all its inhabitants. Please e-mail us to share questions or comments.
